I shared Paul’s prayer for the Colossians. Paul prayed that the Colossians would be filled up by God, obedient to God, strengthened by God, and grateful to God. I ended my message by asking, “What if this prayer became true for First United Methodist Church in Oviedo?” I then invited the church to ditch their New Year’s resolutions and join me in praying the following prayer for our church every day this year. I’d like to invite you to join me in praying this prayer for our church, or your church[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row make_fullwidth="off" use_custom_width="off" width_unit="off" custom_width_px="1080px" custom_width_percent="80%" use_custom_gutter="off" gutter_width="3" custom_padding="27px|70px|27px|70px" padding_mobile="off" allow_player_pause="off" parallax="off" parallax_method="on" make_equal="off" column_padding_mobile="on" parallax_1="off" parallax_method_1="on" parallax_2="off" parallax_method_2="on" parallax_3="off" parallax_method_3="on" parallax_4="off" parallax_method_4="on" admin_label="Row" disabled="off"][et_pb_column type="4_4" disabled="off" parallax="off" parallax_method="on" column_padding_mobile="on"][et_pb_text background_layout="light" text_orientation="left" admin_label="Text" use_border_color="off" border_style="solid" disabled="off"]

(Based on Colossians 1:9-14)

Father of Light,We are grateful that you have rescued and redeemed usFrom our sin and darkness. We ask that you completely fill each of us, and all of us together,With the knowledge of your will and spiritual wisdom. We ask for grace to live lives that please you;We ask that your work in us, and our work in the world, bear fruit; We ask that your glorious power work in and through us;We ask for patience when people oppose usAnd endurance when we suffer. In all these things, we give joyful thanks to you.
