Here are answers to my most frequently asked questions.

I am 100% Telehealth (e.g. Zoom or Google Meet). When I started offering Telehealth sessions during the COVID years, I was rather skeptical. I was concerned that I would miss too many nonverbal cues and that my clients would not have satisfactory outcomes. However, I can confidently say my fears were completely unfounded.

Yes! I meet with all prospective clients for about 20 minutes to make sure we are a good fit. I want to make sure that you fit within the scope of my practice and that you have a sense that we will be able to develop a solid working relationship.

Self-Pay clients:
Couples, $250 per 45-minutes session
Individuals, $150 per 45-minutes session
As my schedule allows, I also occasionally offer therapy intensives. These are three hour sessions that are not covered by insurance. Please let me know if you are interested and to arrange a time.
If you use your insurance, you are responsible for the negotiated rate if you have not reached your deductible. If you have reached your deductible, you are responsible for your co-pay. These details will be described through the insurance processor portal (e.g. Headway, Alma, etc).

Yes, I take a variety of insurance plans through several insurance processors including Headway and Alma. In order to use your benefits, I will need to verify your coverage prior to our first session. This process is explained in our initial consultation.
I am out of network for far more insurance panels that I accept. In such cases, I work with Reimbursify to help my clients navigate the reimbursement process with their insurance provider.

Therapy session last for 45 minutes face-to-face contact. I use the balance of the hour for scheduling, writing clinical notes based on our session, and preparing for my next session.

Well, that depends. Depending on the type and severity of the issue, the client’s goals, and the client’s willingness to “do the work,” six to twelve sessions may be appropriate.
For couples who have experienced infidelity or some other type of broken trust, 12-18 months of counseling is not unusual.

I earned my BA in Liberal Arts from Mississippi State University (a great degree for nothing except a guarantee of more education).
I earned my MS in Counselor Education from Mississippi State University.
I earned a Master of Divinity from the George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University.
I earned my doctorate in Counseling Psychology from The Universe of Florida.
I have worked as a staff psychologist in college counseling centers, as a faculty member at several universities, and as a pastor of several churches.
I have been licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of Florida since 2011.

I work exclusively with adults. I do not work with minors.

I use the Gottman Method, Hope-Focused Marriage Counseling (Worthington), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Time-Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy

I require that clients notify my of a cancelled session at least 48 hours in advance. If you cancel less than 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment, I will charge you the full fee for the session.
Please email or text me prior to our scheduled meeting (if possible) to let me know of any extenuating circumstances. I am reasonable and understand that life emergencies sometimes occur.
