Today is a first. I have never sent my vast readership to another blog to listen to a podcast, but the timing of this particular post is uncanny. Last Sunday I preached on our need to change and return to our first love as a church. On Tuesday of this week I listened to this blog on my commute and I was dumbstruck (though some of you think that this occurred on a a previous occasion).
I want everyone to follow this link to Thom Rainer's blog. I don't know that these are the exact right eight signs. There may be fewer. There may be others. I want you to take the 20 minutes to listen to the blog and rate how you think your church fairs on these eight measures of missional engagement. If necessary, take off the rose-colored glasses. Dont be unnecessarily harsh either. Try to be as objective as possible in assessing your church.
